Personal Interests

Karla lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, Mike, and two sons, Tanner and Colton. During her time away from the clinic, Karla enjoys spending time with her family at the beach. She enjoys many outdoor activities, including exercising and training for obstacle races. She bowls on a league every week and attends Nascar races when time allows.

Biography

After serving as a Yeoman for five years in the United States Navy in the Norfolk, Virginia area, Karla obtained her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training degree as well as her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. Karla has been practicing as a licensed physical therapist in the Coastal Virginia area since 2005. Most of her experience has come in the outpatient orthopedic setting, treating mostly spinal conditions as well as conditions of the knee and shoulder. In addition to outpatient orthopedics, Karla has experience practicing in the home health physical therapy setting as well. The majority of Karla’s continuing education has been performed at Michigan State University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
