Personal Interests

Katlyn enjoys living an active lifestyle, which includes running, biking, and high intensity interval training. When not working, Katlyn loves spending time with her extensively large family, especially with her young nieces, nephew, and cousins.

Katlyn started her academic journey in 2006 attending Virginia Tech, where she received her BS in 2010. From there, she took an interest in public health and was accepted into Virginia Tech’s Master of Public Health program, and graduated from their first CEPH accredited class in 2013. While she acquired a vast amount of education on preventative care and research, Katlyn wanted a more hands-on approach to improving health, and enrolled in nursing school at ODU and graduated in 2018. As a nurse, Katlyn took on the role of charge nurse on critical care units, as well as provided procedural nursing care in cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiology labs. Katlyn is now embarking on her newest venture as a provider, where she hopes to positively impact the health of her future patients.
